Indian Infosys Facing Charge Of Misusing US Visas

BANGALORE:  May 25, 2011

Infosys Technologies Ltd of India is facing charge of misusing B1 business visas to United States.  A senior official of Infosys disclosed on Wednesday that the firm had received a notice from a district court in Texas on May 23 for appearance in the court.

S Gopalakrishnan, co-chairman of Infosys said “We are in the midst of internal review of procedures processes to respond to a US court notice on business visas. We will also cooperate with the investigation into the issues raised by the US Department of Justice,”

Gopalakrishnan further said “As we are a listed firm even in the US on NASDAQ, we have informed the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) that we would soon submit our appropriate response to the court notice and the justice department,”

Jack Palmer an employee has made allegation in an Alabama court in Infosys was sending low-level employees to the US in violation of the laws.
